Volvo B234

The Volvo B234 is a 16-valve, 2.3-liter engine produced by Volvo, primarily for the 740 and 940 models. It is an evolution of the B230 and became Volvo’s first mass-produced 16-valve engine. The B234 was available both as a naturally aspirated version (160 hp) and as a turbocharged version (200 hp).
